Darwen's Lidl supermarket has been refused permission to erect a 7 metre flagpole with an illuminated sign by Blackburn with Darwen Council because it's size and location would be 'visually detrimental' to the surrounding area.Lidl opened it's doors in Darwen on 11th December 2008 on the A666 near Vale Street.
