Darwen FC tasted defeat against Chadderton despite a brave comeback from 4 - 0 down following a red card to Chadderton player John Cregan midway through the second half.
The comeback started with just 20 minutes to go and in the end time ran out in their attempt to rescue at least a point against 10 mend Chadderton. Should the Salmoners have scored the penalty they were awarded on 65 minutes they may have had just enough time to get that vital 4th goal.
