Darwen home game postponed

Darwen FC's home game against Chadderton on Tuesday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at the Anchor Ground.

If the game had gone ahead then Darwen would have completed their 10th game of the campaign whilst other teams in the First Division have still only played 4, 5 or 6 games.

Although it provided Darwen with an opportunity to move out of the bottom three with a result against Chadderton it may have provided a false sense of security having played twice as many games as some of the teams around them.

A draw would have put Darwen level on points with Holker Old Boys who have won 50% of their 4 games played so far.

Darwen still have a good opportunity to pick up enough points to move out of the bottom three when they take on bottom placed Ashton Town on Saturday in an away fixture.
