Darwen heaped misery on Ashtron Town with a 3-1 away win at the weekend. The result leaves Ashton routed to the foot of the table with just 3 points from their opening 10 games.Darwen, on the other hand, managed to make it 2 wins out of 2 following their win against Rochdale Town in the league cup last week. A goal from Bullen on 31 minutes was enough to take the away side into half time with one goal lead, however, Fitzsimmons equalized for Ashton Town shortly after the restart.
Darwen left it until the final 5 minutes to wrap the victory up with goals from Rossi (87) and Turner two minutes later, making it 5 goals in two games between them.
Darwen host 7th placed Norton United at the Anchor Ground next Saturday at 3pm. The game promises to be an entertaining fixture as Darwen look to continue their recent form whilst Norton will be looking to keep in touch with the teams at the top.
