Oarwen - Modern Mythical Town?

Since the dawn of the Internet there seems to have been a new town invented called Oarwen. Depending on which online map you use, the town is located in Blackburn, Ewood, Salford, Clayton le Moors or Darwen.

A quick search on Google throws up 1,840 results featuring pages advertising property, jobs, entertainment and more. You can even check out the latest weather forecast for Oarwen.

When I first "discovered" the town I thought that maybe there was a suburb of Blackburn with Darwen called Oarwen and I'd simply never heard of it in the past (I'd love to hear your comments - is there a place called Oarwen?), but the more I studied maps the more I realised that none of the sites could agree on the exact location of the town!

Or an guide to the "city" at street advisor? Keep up to date with what people are doing in the town at Bright Kite, search for jobs, rental property or parking spaces.

If the town is, indeed, an actual place then none of the online maps seem to agree on it's exact location. Some showing it in Ewood, others in Blackburn, some in Darwen, a couple in Clayton Le Moors and sometimes it is left off the map completely.

Have you ever heard of Oarwen? Do you know the exact whereabouts of the town/suburb? I suspect that somewhere down the line someone has mis-typed Darwen with a letter "O" and it's somehow spread throughout the World Wide Web as a made up place - maybe we should change our site to Oarwen Online?
