Electronic Cigarettes Sales Boom for Darwen Firm

A company in Lower Darwen is selling Electronic Cigarettes to help smokers quit their addiction and they are seeing sales go through the roof!

The Electronic Cigarette Company says "The Electronic Cigarette is a device that simulates the functions of a cigarette without the harmful chemicals. It uses a small replaceable cartridge filled with a small dose of nicotine and flavoured propylene glycol liquid, utilized and powered by a rechargeable battery."

When the user inhales on the device, the air flow is detected by a pneumatic airflow sensor switch. A microprocessor then activates an atomizer which injects tiny droplets of the liquid into the flowing air and vaporises the liquid.

The electronic cigarettes are accepted in pubs, clubs, restaraunts and bingo halls and have their stickers in venues from Lands End to John O Groats!

Their tabacco free product allows you the freedom of 'smoking' anywhere in the world and you will also live a healthier life by replacing your normal smoking habits with the electronic cigarettes which don't contain any tar.

The cigarettes do, however, contain nicotine and as such are still highly addictive. The nicotene shots come in replaceable cartridges which users inhale prompting concern from the World Health Organisation.

An electronic cigarette in action:

Although the product provides smokers with a way of getting round the smoking ban it is claimed the lack of regulation and knowledge about this type of product meant no-one knew just what these products contain.

Douglas Bettcher of the World Health Organisation describes this as a 'regulatory blackhole', but retailers claim they are safer than traditional cigarettes and the fact they can be used in pubs and clubs means they are becomming increasingly popular with smokers.
